Tea and Vodka
Last week Kerry and Tibi (who just got engaged! Hurray!!!!) took me to a tiny Russian vodka bar on 52nd St. called Uncle Vanya's. Inside it's very cozy, very red, there's a piano, and a tiny bar and some tables, very quaint. We ordered Russian tea, which usually comes with cookies and sour cherry preserves, they were out of cherries...yes, upsetting, but we had it anyway. And then...they bring you the vodka. We had five flavor choices and decided first to go with lemon. Drinking like a Russian simply includes a jug of vodka and three shot glasses. And, no, you don't sip the vodka, you shoot it. After nine, NINE, shots of lemon and cranberry vodka, I took this video...sideways.
